Fernandina Beach, FL - Beaufort, SC

Totals today: 152 nm   10 hr 28 min

Avg speed 14.5     130 gallons of fuel

Off the dock 0620.  Arrived in Beaufort 1648

The weather was not as kindly today.  NE winds 15-20 - 3-6 foot seas.  Because we'd be beating right into some unfriendly seas, we opted to go inside,

This part of the ICW in Georgia is very "twisty and turny" (nautical terminology for "twisty and turny").

Passed six or so sailboats which really dropped our average speed.

1050 Crossing Sapelo Sound.  N31 52.574  W81 13.339

Although the chop in the sound was probably only 1-3, it made for a somewhat unpleasant ride.  I think that we made the right choice coming inside.

Saw quite a few dolphin today (probably ten or so).  They seemed smaller than the ones that we encounter out in the Gulf.

Pulled in to the Port Royal Marina at 1648.

Met Kate and Cerrone for dinner at European Cafe.  Great meal and great company!  Also, Cerrone an d Kate brought a couple of needed items for the galley and an ethernet cable for a final diagnostic on the radar.  Seems like it was not the cable.

Also, Laundry Day!

Pressing on.
