            Marco Island to Chatham

              Sunday - May 10, 2009

                                  (A Cook's Log)

Lower Matecumbe to Ft. Pierce

Total today:    185 nm   10hr 47min

Avg speed 17.2     160 gallons of fuel

Anchor up at 0515

Jimmy's spatula work on the trim tabs worked pretty well.   Better fuel efficiency and another knot or so with same RPM' and conditions.

Throud the Channel 5 Bridge (65 foot clearance) with a full moon calm seas and on to Hawk Channel.

If we just made a right instead of a left we could have been drinking Schooneritas at the Schooner Wharf Bar before noon.  But, heck, maybe next time.

0830 Passed Angelfish Creek where Karen and I anchored up on our return from Bimini a few years ago.

After some discussion, we decided that it seemed to be perfect conditions to cross the Gulf Stream and have some fresh conch salad for lunch.  Oh well, maybe next time.

0910 Biscayne Bay and Miami to our port.  I know this place on Cayo Ocho where we could get an excellent coco frio.  And right there is Coral Gables, Les Halles for dinner.  What the hey, maybe next time.

1616 - Pulled up to fuel dock at Ft. Pierce Municipal Marina.  Getting ready for another O'Dark Thirty departure
