I forgot to mention that the OrientaMarina provided "free" (included in the price) bath towels, soap and shampoo.
Also, we were docked up next to an Olympia 55. I'm sure it was a very nice boat. But, it looked all plasticy and white and had these neon blue lights built into it and the blue underwater lights. To me, it looked a little chintzy. If boats could be embarrassed (and I'm sure the can) that Olympia was blusing red next to Solipsys.
Nicer day today. Sped across the sounds; Pamlico, Croatan and Albemarle. Re-entered The Ditch at 1120 at Camden Point, St M 65, N 36 09.937 W 75 53.497. Storm cell followed us all the way in.
Passed a slow-boat parade on the North River. Better here than in the ICW. We were able to go around without waking them and without slowing down.
We did have to slow down for this sailboat, Infinity Newport, RI. Dr. Philled with them. Very nice. N 36 18.073 W 75 58.132
Great Bridge Bridge and Lock were fun. Not so eventful for us, but an IP 38 Hooligan, snuck in to the lock behind us and ARustiCat. Hooligan took quite awhile to secure in the lock. He was going solo. Fenders dragging. Erratic maneuvering after the lock. Gave IP's a bad name.
Slow and go through Norfolk and docked up at the Tidewater Yacht Marina. just in time for happy hour. |
