Depart Tampa 1710 arrve Baltimore 1915. On to Anchorage Marina, Boston St.  Good flight.  Smooth Landing

.

First stop, provisioning (grocery shopping) at Safeway right across the street from the marina.

Cockpit refrigerator (and icemaker) went out. Possible thermostat. Did some diagnostic work. Could not fix. Had Dark & Stormies instead.

A little chilly sleeping. Used scarf wrapped around my head like a little old Italian lady would. Worked out perfectly. Hey, they didn't become little OLD Italian ladies by just dumb luck!

Out of the slip at O'Dark Thirty! Love it! Overcast and slight drizzle of rain. Temp approx low sixties. Glad I brought my head lamp with red light. Able to work the galley and not disturb Bob getting out of the slip and heading south.

0730 Calm seas. A bit overcast.  Weather is still grey, overcast, drizzling rain. Seas 3-4. Smoother at times.

Nap time.

Waited 45 minutes for Steel Bridge (Dominion).  Waited about 30 minutes for Great Bridge Lock.  Pass Great Bridge and then on to the Atlantic Yacht Basin marina.  To get to our slip we had to "Go to the end of the line of boats on the ICW.  Make a right.  Follow the canal until you see the guy with the flashlight..."

Huge covered marina.  Numerous enormous multi-mill motor yachts.  Yep, right here in Great Bridge, VA.

Left Atlantic Yacht Basin in Great Bridge around 0630. On the Pamlico Sound. Beautiful day today. Clear, sunny. Seas were a light chop.

Made great time.

Writing this in Moorehead City Yacht Basin marina. Very nice. Near Beaufort, NC.

Did some laundry.  A big load was already in the washer.  The washer had stopped.  So, I waited for a while.  Nothing.  Nobody.  So, I pulled the laundry out to put it in a nearby basket.  First, they were Canadian clothes (logo on visor).  Secondly, everything was going well until I pulled out some huge white cotton panties.  Oh boy.  I closed my eyes and rushed through the rest.  My clothes were done, dry and folded, but the Canadian clothes were still in the basket.

As for my underwear, they have a sort of salmon hue (actually they look pink) because I washed them with my salmon colored Hogs Breath t-shirt.

FYI - Potential stop on the way south of Great Bridge is Coinjock, NC.

Out of Moorehead City at 0600.   On to Cape Fear.  Through the Fear River and on directly to Georgetown, SC.   I thought that it was a bit ironic that there is a Pleasure Island on Cape Fear.

Clear, sunny, warm.  Two-three footers.  Rollers on the Fear to Georgetown leg.

At the Boat Shed Marina on the Sampit River, right across from Goat Island . Small downtown area.

Went into what seemed to be a little bakery/deli store.  I asked if they had any pita bread.  “Honey,” said the woman behind the counter, “if you hadn't noticed, you're in Georgetown, SC.  You won't find no pita bread around here.”   I don't know what she would have done if I asked for marble rye or a nice warm loaf of Cuban bread.

Visit by Kate and Cerrone.  Thanks to Kate and Cerrone for the Cracker Jacks, Famous Amos and Hot Chocolate.  Great time!
