Out of the slip at 0640. Bright blue skies, sunny, SE winds. Following seas 2-4 footers.
Docked at fuel dock for the night at the Port Canaveral Marina. Work boats brought workers from offshore dredge to the docks. Only other neighbor was a small, well used fishing boat named How You Doin. The crew consisted of the older boat owner/ captain, a young guy and a very cool boat dog, pit/boxer mix named Big Red.

Cape Canaveral, FL to Fernandina Beach, FL Trip Miles 168 Time Underway 10hrs 16min Avg Speed 16.4 Fuel 152 gallons
Out of the slip at 0700. Overcast. 72 degrees. Winds 10-15 out of 236 degrees. COG 340. Following 2-3' seas for most of the morning. Easy going.
Started to run across several storm cells around 1000. Winds and seas becoming unfavorable. Starting to get a little pounding.
The day cleared beautifully. The winds swung out of 296. Our COG took us into some pounding all day. Luckily the waves were down to 2-3 footers.
Thought about coming in to Jax, but figured we should make the most out of the good weather and pressed on to Fernandina.

Fernandina Beach, FL to Beaufort, SC Trip Miles 140 Time Underway 8 hrs 37 min Avg Speed 16.3 Fuel 132 gallons
Out of the slip at 0645. 52 degrees. Winds 0-5 out of 36 degrees. COG 340. Heading into light, light chop. The deck didn't even get wet. Until noon. Then right about Hilton Head the winds picked up and so did the seas. although the seas weren't too high, they were steep and short. Bang, bang, banging our way north. Enough of that after awhile so we pulled into Beaufort calling it a short day.
Got the use of a courtesy car from the marina. Went to West Marine Express and the Piggly Wiggly. Mid-trip provisions and some 10A fuses. Two blew on two of the wipers..
Back to the marina for some dinner, tea and calling it an early evening.

Beaufort, SC to Myrtle Beach, SC Trip Miles 170 Time Underway 11 hrs 35 min Avg Speed 14.7 Fuel 148 gallons
Out of the slip at 0630. Stayed on the ICW until Charleston, then headed out. Not a bad run with ENE winds 10-15 and seas 2-3. As the day went on, conditions worsened and we started to get a beating. So, we ducked back in via Georgetown. A slow and go run through the ICW got us to the Marina at Grande Dunes, Myrtle Beach around 1750.
Nice marina. Got a complimentary bottle of Beringer wine. The only thing was that there were several Canadian geese who seemed to have took up lodging right across from us. They honked and hissed quite a bit at first. They finally calmed down and we didn't even know that they were there throughout the night.

Oriental, NC to New Port News, VA Trip Miles 157 Time Underway 11 hrs 04 min Avg Speed 14.2 Fuel 124 gallons
Out in the fog at 0600. Once again, the Atlantic was calm calm. Light, light chop. Up Pamlico Sound to Tide Water. Instead of waiting two hours for Steel Bridge to open, we thought we'd give it a shot anyway. We cleared the bridge by about eighteen inches.
Extremely uneventful trip, just the way we like it!
