"Just because it's the last day of the trip, it's not the end of the adventure!"  Capt. Dirty Ben

.

There's really nothing like being on the hook.  Marinas are great.  Its very nice to take a high pressure, hot shower that you don't have to squeegee down and dry off.  But, the serenity of an anchorage, especially late at night and early in the morning is a unique experience.  If you've never done it, you should really add it to your bucket list.

After a night at anchor in the Ox Bow loop, we were off the hook at 0640.  Out on the ICW and heading out on our last leg to Marco.

Once into the Gulf we had light chop that turned into about 2 footers, short and on our port forward quarter.  A little bumpy, but our recent Norfolk to Cape May adventure (Sat. 10/31) set the new standard for challenging rides.  So, where previously this ride would have caused a slight level of discomfort, it was really a cake-walk.

Pulled in to our slip in Marco at 1030.

Another successful trip South!
