Monday 11/02/09

Belhaven, NC to Cape Fear, NC

Trip Miles = 153     Time Underway =  10 hrs

Avg Speed = 15.1   Fuel =  211 gallons

Stuff happens. Deal with it.  Seems to be a plan that works out.

Bob's work on the crankcase intake filter seemed to resolve that problem.  However, not five minutes off the dock and the "Coolant Low" warning came on.  Put about three quarts in.  Started the engine, but the alarm did not go off.  Coolant and oil temp stayed normal however, so we decided to give it a go.

At Beaufort Inlet in NC (that's pronounced Bofert for all you NC'ers as opposed to Beaufort, SC (which is pronounced Beeyou-fert) we decided to zig when we should have zagged.

There we were in the Atlantic again.  But this time it was a whole different story.  Following seas and winds and a light chop made this an excellent run.

Once into Maonborough Inlet around 1540 it was absolutely  SLOWWWW with numerous No Wake zones until we reached our slip at Southport Marina.
