Stamford, CT to Cape May, NJ

Trip Miles = 160     Time Underway = 9:44

Avg Speed =  16.4  Fuel =  140 gallons

I'll  take Manhatten, the Bronx and Staten Island too, it's lovely going through the zoo

It's very fancy on old Delaney Street, you know.  The subway charms us so, when balmy breezes blow to and fro.

And tell me what street compares with Mott Street in July,  Sweet push carts gently gliding by."  Lorenz and Hart

Off the dock at 0700   Weather forecast doesn't look good.  SSE winds 20+ Seas 5-7.  Could be a bumpy ride once we get off the NJ coast.

Harlem River to East River.  Another incredible  view of The City!

0915 Pass Sandy Hook.  Seas light chop.  Sunny. Clear skies.  A little bumpy, but nothing like the forecast.

When we made the turn at Barnegat Light we had 3-4 foot swells on our aft port quarter.  Although it made for a little yawing, overall it was more than doable.

Pulled in to Cape May at around 1530.  Had to hang outside of the Utsch's Marina until the striped bass tournament boats finished weighing in.   Pulled up to fuel dock around 1630.  In our slip by 1700 or so.

Great day!  The boat actually seemed happy to be runing.  And so were we.

Once ashore, after dinner, I guess most sailors would head to the local bar... not me.  This is Cape May, Utschs' Marina.  This is where they have the laundry that all other marinas are

now held to standard.  I put a full load in a Dexter Thoroughbred 300 double load washer (made int the USA I might add) and then went to take a shower in some very nice facilities.  When I returned to the laundry, the load was done!  Then, into one of the SIX Dexter Thoroughbred Stack Dryers for a 35

minute dry,  a Serafin de Cuba cigar and a touch of The Glenlevit.

The only way that this could be better is if Karen were here to enjoy this with me!
